Homemade Strawberry Fruit Roll-Ups

A healthy, fun snack you can make at home

Skip the store-bought snacks! These homemade strawberry fruit leathers are naturally sweet, chewy, and made with just three simple ingredients. No artificial flavors, no mystery additives—just real fruit. Whether you make them in the oven or a dehydrator, they’re perfect for lunchboxes, hikes, or anytime you need a sweet, healthy treat.

Ingredients (Makes 6 rolls)

  • 1 lb (450g) strawberries (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Prep the fruit
    • Remove the tops of the strawberries and slice them in halves (or quarters if large). Add them to a saucepan with the lemon juice and sugar. Simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes until soft and juicy.
  2. Blend
    • Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  3. Spread the puree
    • Line a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread the puree evenly, with slightly thicker edges to ensure even drying.
  4. Dry
    • Oven method: Set your oven to the lowest temperature (typically 170–200°F / 75–95°C). Leave the door slightly ajar using a wooden spoon to let moisture escape.
    • Dehydrator method: Set to 135°F (57°C) and dry for about 4.5–5 hours.
  5. Finish and store
    • Once the leather is dry and peels off easily without sticking, transfer it onto parchment paper, roll it up, and cut into snack-sized strips.

Storage:

Store in an airtight bag or container for up to 2 weeks at room temperature, or several months in a sealed jar in a cool, dark place.
