This simple no-egg vanilla ice cream recipe is perfect when you're craving something sweet, creamy, and homemade — without the hassle of cooking. With just a few basic ingredients and an ice cream maker, you’ll have 1 gallon of rich, old-fashioned vanilla ice cream that’s ideal for scooping, topping, or enjoying solo.
Ingredients (Makes 1 gallon – about 32 servings)
- 2 quarts half-and-half
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ pint heavy cream
- 4 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions
- In the bowl of your ice cream maker, mix together the half-and-half, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt until fully combined.
- Start the machine and churn according to your manufacturer’s guidelines — usually about 20 minutes.
- Once the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, transfer it into a sealed container.
- Freeze for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
